By combining loitering munitions with EO/IR sensors, pilots can identify, track, and engage targets from safe stand-off distances while keeping the option to abort. This added reach improves survivability and gives crews more control in changing situations. Hand-off capability allows forward-deployed operators to assume control of the munition after launch, making it possible to share both reconnaissance and strike responsibilities in real time.
Aerial Launch & Operation
The systems are easily integrated into the air-vehicle avionics suite, hence allowing the aircrew to simply operate the munition using the standard controls.
The flight and guidance of the HERO munitions is done from the aerial platform, and can also be transferred to the forces on the ground.
This dramatically enhances the operational range of the air-platform, and its ability to counter low-signature, time-sensitive targets, supporting the ground or Naval forces.
For missions such as close air support, call-for-fire, and reconnaissance, the aerial launch capability gives helicopters more options than conventional rockets or short-range missiles. Crews can extend their support to troops on the ground, carry out precision engagements from long range, or maintain eyes on a target area for as long as needed. This flexibility strengthens the helicopter’s role in both strike and support operations.
Aerial Multi-Mission Launcher
UVision’s Aerial Multi-Mission Launcher redefines how loitering munitions are deployed in joint-force and multi-domain operations. Developed under a U.S. Government initiative, this capability expands mission options for rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft by integrating the HERO Loitering Munition family with minimal platform disruption.
Engineered for compatibility and operational flexibility, the launcher transforms transport and attack helicopters, such as the UH-60 Black Hawk and AH-64 Apache, into agile ISR and precision strike assets without structural modifications or special tooling.
